End-to-end inspection for E-Coats
Automotive manufacturers are under pressure to ensure consistently high paint quality while maintaining efficient production processes. ‘Paintscan Hybrid X EC’ extends Isra Vision’s ‘Hybrid X’ technology to e-coat applications and helps manufacturers establish an end-to-end inspection approach across the entire painting process.
‘Paintscan Hybrid X EC’ has been developed for the inspection of cathodic dip-coated vehicle bodies (e-coat) and builds on Isra Vision’s established e-coat inspection expertise. The new sensor generation combines optimised hardware with AI-based defect detection and classification.
The significantly reduced weight enables higher robot speeds and decreases the strain on the hardware. The use of more compact robots reduces the space required and increases flexibility when integrating inspection systems into existing production environments. AI-supported inspection and set-up routines also simplify commissioning and the integration of new vehicle models. By reducing manual parameterisation efforts and improving classification performance, artificial intelligence enables shorter ramp-up times as well as more consistent and reproducible quality control.
Unified inspection environment
As part of the ‘Car Paint Vision’ portfolio, ‘Paintscan Hybrid X EC’ contributes to harmonised quality management across multiple process steps in the paint shop. Unified inspection data and consistent reporting support greater process transparency, efficient rework strategies and well-founded quality decisions. Together with ‘Paintscan Hybrid X’ for topcoat inspection and ‘Paintscan Compact’ for painted attachment parts and interior areas, ‘Paintscan Hybrid X EC’ enables the use of a unified inspection environment. Consolidated quality data, standardised reports and consistent operator guidance promote greater process transparency and well-founded quality decisions.
