Wagner expands into South America

Industrial coating system supplier Wagner has established J. Wagner Brasil Ltda., a new subsidiary based in Campinas near São Paulo. The move is intended to strengthen the group’s local presence in view of anticipated economic growth across South America. “With our new company in Brazil, we are strengthening our local presence, enabling rapid response to the needs of our South American customers, and delivering our distinctive Wagner service,” says Christian Pustlauk, Vice President Europe & South America at Wagner.

Michael Müller, one of the two CEOs of the Wagner Group, underlines the broader significance of the step: “J. Wagner Brasil Ltda. represents a clear commitment to the South American market and underlines the strategic importance of Brazil as the sixth largest economy worldwide and the largest on the continent.” According to the company, the São Paulo location offers good access to markets across the continent.

Three decades of market presence

Wagner has been active in Brazil for more than 30 years through local distributors and is established in the powder coating segment. The company is also present in liquid coating and the DIY segment. From the new base, the subsidiary will serve partners and customers across the industrial coating sector, with a focus on on-site customer service, collaboration and the further development of regional partnerships.

The Campinas facility includes a showroom for application testing, local logistics for critical components, and technical support tailored to the transportation, agricultural and furniture industries.

Experienced management

The new operation is led by Managing Director André Da Poian, a mechanical engineer with an MBA in marketing. He has more than 30 years of experience in surface coating, including several years within the group’s South American operations.
